Vernay Moving Company

My name is Kelly Vernay and I am proud to present some history of the Vernay family of movers.  Our company dates back to 1903 when my Great-Grandfather, William J. Vernay, started a taxi company and delivery service in Paterson, New Jersey, an industrial town known for their silk mills and the manufacture of locomotives.
My father, William E. Vernay, grew up in the family business and took over operations in 1964.  America was becoming more mobile---people were leaving their hometown roots and heading off to parts unknown.  Times were changing and we were changing too—purchasing new equipment, expanding our facilities and constantly striving to be the best—always keeping in mind the old values—to be a fair and honest mover. fair and honest mover
Bill Vernay Through mergers, acquisitions and the growth of our hauling fleet, we developed power lanes of specialized service between the northeast and Florida, coining the slogan, “Moving to Florida, Go All The Way With Bill Vernay!”
In 1986, we purchased a small North American agency in Fort Myers, Florida, “Edison Moving & Storage.”  We now have a state-of-the-art warehouse and the largest fleet of local and interstate trucks to meet the market needs of the next millennium.  Go all the way with Bill Vernay
The company is currently managed by three generations of movers—committed to excellence and customer satisfaction.  We provide a world class service to families and businesses, whether they are moving around the corner or around the world.
